I had the opportunity to participate in an invite-only course titled Visiting Designers. Through this, I was able to experience working with designers from companies around the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where they would come in and propose and guide us through a project of their choosing. For this project, I as fortunate to work with a designer from Schaefer Advertising Co. in Fort Worth, where we were tasked with creating an invitation for an event of our choosing, but doing so in a creative and innovative way.

The Forty-Two Gala is an event hosted by the National Baseball Hall of Fame centered around the 60th anniversary of Jackie Robinson being inducted. This interactive invitation is designed to reflect the entire story of who Jackie was, what he stood for, and the legacy he left on baseball history and beyond.

Regarded as a key movement in the history of the American Civil Rights movement, Robinson was an exceptional player, a speedy runner who sparked the team with his intensity. He was an inaugural recipient of the Rookie of the Year award, which is now named the Jackie Robinson award in his honor. The Brooklyn Dodgers' willingness to integrate, when most other teams refused to, was a key factor in their 1947-1956 success. Over those 10 years, they won six pennet's. As well, Robinson eventually became the first African-American elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.
